16,300 Crores for Jharkhand
Jharkhand was approved a sum of sixteen thousand three hundred crores by the Planning Commission for the year 2012-13. This announcement was made following the meeting of the Chief Minister Arjun Munda with the Commission’s Deputy Chairman Montek Singh Ahluwalia on Monday. Earlier to this a detailed presentation was made by Jharkhand. Before the formal announcement of the approved amount Chief Minister Arjun Munda said that because of not taking corrective measures the Commission has not been able to control the naxal menace. He said that the five year plans of the states are not tackling this problem at the roots. Talking of the financial health of the state, Munda said that 84% of the allocation was spent in the last financial year.
