Jharkhand misses the train

The UPA Government praised Railway Budget 2013-14 as candy for the common man; the Opposition termed it a sugar-coated bitter pill. Pouring water on the State’s expectations, the Union Government did not allot a single new train to Jharkhand. In the name of increasing frequency, only the Ranchi-New Delhi Garib Rath was changed-from twice to thrice a week. A new line will be laid between Pirpainti and Jasidih. Survey work of Garhwa-Ambikapur will be completed this year along with completion of the Hazaribagh rail line.
