Opposition slams budget for being populist
The Opposition on Saturday defined the state budget as a bundle of lies. The opposition leaders said that the budget had ignored industry and other core sectors like mining and minerals, around which the state economy revolves.
Initiating the debate, leader of the opposition, R.P Singh, described it as populist budget aimed at appeasing the business class and rural masses. JVM (P) leader Pradeep Yadav, said that Das attempted to please all and gained nothing out of it. The budget has been silent on how the state would mop up revenue losses that it would incur after tax waivers and reduction of VAT on 13 items.
