Ranchi :- The three-day Textiles India-2017 has opened new avenues of marketing its famous Tasar silk and other textiles products for the State. Department of Industries Secretary Sunil Kumar Barnwal said on Sunday that at least 8-9 big textile companies have shown interest for setting up their units in Jharkhand soon.
"The event has proved to be very supportive for entire nation. I have been informed that 8-9 textiles majors have expressed their interest in the State which is the largest Tasar silk producer in country," said Barnwal who couldn't make it to the event due to some other exigencies.
Jharkhand participated in the mega event which concluded on Sunday where over a dozen stalls were installed from State other than Jharcraft and Jharkhand State Khadi Board. A Jharkhand-centric session was organised on Saturday where industries from across the country discussed achievements and possibilities of State in Tasar silk and textiles. The event was attended by participants from over 100 countries.
