Ranchi : The World Youth Skills Day was celebrated in the state with the launch of five mega skill centres by chief minister Raghubar Das.
At an event organised by Jharkhand Skill Development Mission Society (JSDMS) at Project Bhavan in the capital city today, Das launched three centres in Jamshedpur and one each as Gola (Ramgarh) and Raidih (Gumla) online.
"The government has allocated Rs 700 crore in the budget for 2017-18 for skill development," Das added.
The chief minister also launched a service portal called "Mera Hunar" that will help skilled people find job and common people find technicians to fix household problems. He also handed over 10 out of the total 150 offer letters to skilled youths.
JSDMS signed MoUs with six skill development partners who will offer their expertise in related fields. They are Tata Institute of Social Science, Mumbai, IL&FS Skill Development Corporation, Delhi. IIM, Ranchi, BIT-Mesra and two city hotels - Radisson Blu and Capitol Hill.
