I am a cery frequent visitor to Jharkhand due to my professional compulsion. Jharkhand definitely a nice place & its people are very nice. Only draw back is its beyond limit oppurtunistic political class & Naxal problem. General public is very sobor, simple & co-operative. They too are daring as they confronted Naxals in northern Jharkhand.
Every time I go there, minimum twice a month, I use to read Ranchi Express as I find the true non-Hindi paper that cover Jharkhand issues more lively & more neutrally.

It gives me a great pleasure to thanks to Ranchi express family which gives me updates of my family,my mother-land and about my own people. thanks from the very deep of my heart. The very first thing i do every morning is
to see the latest news from Ranchiexpress.com. I like my jharkhand to go at the top of our country at every end. And my suggestion would be to choose better politician, which you people feel are well-literate and commited for development. I dont like to see it as another BIHAR, so please come-up of the castiesm and think it in the big picture. Lets commit to make it the model state of Jharkhand. My personal request to Rachi Express family would be to add some news from Hazaribag district also, as i get a feel-good by reading any kind of news from there.Regards,

Hello all brothers and sister of Ranchi and Jharkhand
Once again i take this oppurtunity to address you all. Earliar I had
written about my proposal to start the charitable clinic in ranchi. Though
the plan has lately been changed but the commitment still is the same.
After giving due thought, me an my wife decided to do service to the people
of Ranchi but in a better way. As per our observation the needy are still
making beeline in different hospitals of delhi in the hope of getting
proper medical attention. Most of the time they spend their valuable
resources, energy and time for the same, but at the end they acheive
nothing. I take this platform as an oppurtunity to address all those who
had been coming to Delhi for medical problems to get in touch with me. I
will try in my best capacity to make necessary arrangments to facilitate
the entire medical proceedings.
My email address is divyadarshi@hotmail.com and my contact number is

Hello Ranchi Express,
I fully agree with Mr Sanjeev who is worried about obtaining his passport. I have also faced the similar experience while procuring passport from the Ranchi Passport office. While in other states we get the passport within 45 days of submission of application form , Ranchi passport office takes 1 year or longer. Due to delay caused at their end , many people suffer. I hope that your popular newspaper will do something this regards .

I am in a deep problem due to the functioning of passport office in Ranchi. My father applied for a passport one year ago and still it has not been processed, He has knocked the doors of all the people involved, paid them what ever they wanted and still there is no progress. He is very old now and needs to travel 100 miles each time to Ranchi in hope that his request will be heard, but passport office does not do anything. Do any of you know someone who can help? Please write to me at

Boy, I see everyone praising Ranchi as if it were heaven. As for me, as I came out of Ranchi and started living in other parts of India and then the world, I started realising how really bad the condition in Ranchi were (and probably are getting worse by day).
The affairs at the Ranchi Express site too is no different. The look has remained the same, with no additions. Once probably their hard-disks crashed, and with not much backup, you can see a bulk of "guestbook" entries missing. Shape up guys if you want to take on the world.

Hi Ranchi lovers,
The situation is now alarming at Ranchi.
Are you aware that people are killed by over-dose of medicines? At Ranchi, the medical facility our elderly parents are getting is a killer arrangement. Jharkhand and Bihar is the the biggest center for sale of medicine and medical drugs. Most of the pharma companies get maximum revenue from this region. You can see the this region has maximum number of drugs store and maximum no. of medical representatives posted there.
The doctors prescribe overdose of medicine so that the sales man can achieve their target. Ask your parent how many medicine they take daily. Don't be surprised if you know that daily they take ten tablets daily. There is several news that people die in ICU, not due to improper care, but do to the treatment which they never needed. But the treatment was needed to boost the revenue of hospital as well as of the pharma company.
If you think that by arranging better medical care you can help your parents, think twice. You might be doing the just opposite.
Recently one of my relatives had undergone a heat surgery at a famous hospital at Ranchi. He did not need the surgery and due to incorrect treatment he died in ICU. One of my aunt was prescribed drugs for thyroid. Although the diagnostic report did not suggest the treatment. And she got impaired vision. If you live far from Ranchi and your parents live at Ranchi/Jharkhand and you want to protect your then , join hands with me to fight the evil of "medical killers", mail me at deep2002n@yahoo.com

Ranchi is a place you can only fall in love with . Ranchi is in my blood. Ranchi has given its children all the love and care that a mother can only do. I am pretty sure that the readers will agree with me. i have been a regular visitor to this website, it makes me extremely happy to read the sentiments of the fellow brothers. One common thing in these guest column is that everybody wants to do his or her own bit to help the cause called Ranchi. Most of the times it appears that these desire are only limited
till filling in the guest column. Nothing concrete has ever happened to be proud about. While writing the guest column one thinks that he or she has done his or her duty by inciting the nostalgia and patriotism in the minds of fellow readers and the work will be done by others. I am sure that the children of Ranchi are occupying very strong place across the globe. Its the time to pay back the dues to Mother Ranchi. Old saying is that Charity begins at home. I am a trained Orthopaedic Surgeon and my wife is a
gynaecologist. We Had been working in St Stephens hospital Delhi for last five years. here i have seen patients coming from our state in search of proper medical facilities. It pains to see them in this condition even three to four years after the formation of the new Jharkhand state. To help them out I a returning back to Ranchi to start a charitable dispensary, which i hope that it will flourish with the time to come with the grace of God and the love of its people. I may be needing your help FELLOW RANCHITES

I read a news which shocked me. Though the Jharkhand government has made Hindi mandatory in its offices, a grade four student in a Ranchi Carmel Residential School was brutally beaten because he dared to speak in Hindi. He was beaten and then asked to crawl on his knees all over the campus. He was not allowed to tell his parents about the
incident. I remeber our teachers using cane sticks mercilessly (not for speaking in Hindi though).
Is this the kind of practice we still have in our schools?
Is this not shameful?

It is a wonderful site and really enthuses the nostalgia of my dera hometown Ranchi.Way back in 1987-88 , my hangout place was "Madras coffe House" wherein a few of us would come back from Tuition and discuss the state of affairs over a mouth watering Crispy Dosa, and then wrap up the discussion with a "Softy" at Firayalals.Ranchi is a beautiful city and I still cherish the memories of playing cricket at Bangla School or Zila Shool playground. Durga Puja puts this city at its best...with exciting pandals in Bakribazar,Main Road, Mecon Colony. Thanks a lot for the RE team for this wonderful site.

It was 15 years ago when this group celebrated its SILVER JUBILEE and I was just a beginner in the field of journalism.I was a trainee in this organisation at that time. The memory of that occasion is still afresh in my mind. This first newspaper of this area is today again repeating the glory. I feel that this is a glorious moment for me too because till today I feel that I am also a member of this family. The love and affection of the colleagues and the knowledge attained from the seniors of this house can never fade from my memory. Today also whenever I step into the premises of the RANCHI EXPRESS I have this feeling that I had never left this place. I feel like going to my seat and start working.
It really touched our hearts when we came to know from Vidya bhaiya that respected AJAY sir had asked him to personally convey this message to us that he wished to see all ex RE family members in the function. We were really touched by this. I pray to the almighty for prosperity of the RE family. I wish a goood future for all the members of this family. I would like to specially thank Uday bhaiya, Chhetri bhaiya, Vidya bhaiya, Pooran bhaiya, Ramiqbal bhaiya, Arun bhaiya and Chanchal da etc. for their contribution to the RANCHI EXPRESS.
I congratulate each and every member of this family on this occasion. I pray to God that this group celebrates its GOLDEN JUBILEE and I witness that glorious moment too.

The site is pretty neat. One thing which I would like to bring your
attention to, is that you can keep all the newspapers online for upto
last 7 years in a web archive.
I dont know what the implications would be, but then, it would
certainly help people browse through information and locate it easily
instead of looking for a particular days newspaper in the shacks.
Thanks once again.

Hi! everyone,
Good to know that everything is going well and good at Ranchi which is my native place and spent my 33 yrs.
Did everythig at Ranchi, my family still down there and memory so vivid that can't be erased forever. Wonderful place and everyone has a wish and working hard to make a great place on the planet. I have a feeling that it can be and it would be done if so many people have strong will for it. I check my Ranchi thru this wonderful site EVERYDAY, can't explain how nostalgic I get when see the small or big streets of the city where I have been. WHAT A PLACE!
>Request you to you'll to write me whether you know me or you know Ranchi or anyone who doesn't know either of these two and want to know any of them.
MOST WELCOME!
LOVE AND GOOD LUCK TO YOU ALL.

Congratulations to the CM Mr Babulal Marandi & the
state Public Relations Dept for doing a tremendous
job of portraying Jharkhand as the " Land of
unlimitted opportunities...." Here in Mumbai, it
was nice seeing the Jharkahand advts in the media
-TOI/ Eco Times B'y during end Aug & begining Sept.
It was good work done as the new state was never
exposed to the outsiders , namely in terms of their
natural mineral resources , a strong education
centres & on professionals churned out fr the state.

Hey Rajeev,
It was nice reading your message. Good to hear the names like Mrs Aneja(Eng), Mrs. Leelavathi(Phy) and others. I took ICSE in 1991 so that makes you my super senior at school. Well it was good to know you.
Take care man

Hi fellow visitors...I too belong to the great land of Jharkhand (even though the recent domicile policy doesn't allow me this credit). I thank the REO team for their excellent work and invite anyone and everyone interested to drop a few lines and let us see how the chain of Jharkhandi's grows outside Jharkhand....

Kudos to REO team for providing a fantastic global "portal" to Ranchi.
We have a place to check on everyday, to know what's going on with our beloved Ranchi, wherever in the world we are.

It makes me proud to be a part of the culture called Ranchi. I studied in St. Thomas School, HEC Sector 3 1985 ICSE. I went to IIT Bombay and IIM Calcutta for studies. I owe a lot to my teachers and friends at Ranchi. I take this opportunity to thank the most wonderful teachers, who shaped my life - Mrs. Aneja, Mrs. Lakshmi, Mrs S. Nag and Mrs. Leelavathi of St. Thomas School. Mr. Manohar Lal and Father DeBrouwer of St. Xavier's college. My friends Debjit Rudra and Amit Biswas, who made school a place to always cherish in life. My senior Chanchal Kumar (IAS, 92), who proved that "Attitude is everything".
The corruption in politics and lawlessness in the state could not deter the global vision of the children who got educated in Ranchi and are making a difference worldwide.
The time has come back to give back to the society what we got from it. We should try in our own little way, to create awareness among the people to start the transition to make Jharkhand the best state in India, no matter what the politicians want.
