Whassup with the 'domicile' stuff in Jharkhand?? > Indians are 'Indians' and India is 'India', so why > divide into Jharkhandis, Biharis, UPites, Bengalis, > etc. etc. We all in India copy-cat USA to the > limit, so why not 'copy-cat' their good American > concept of being an 'American', and not a Virginian, > Marylander, NewJerseyan, Californian, etc., or for > that matter a Christian, or a Muslim, or a Hindu. or > a Jew, etc. Only if we all forget this British > imposed caste-based, state-based, xxx-based, > yyy-based, ???-based divided feelings, and all unite > to be 'Indians', the world will see the biggest > super-power -- because it is true that "United we > stand - divided we fall". I am an American, and > when it comes to America, I forget that I am a > Hindu, or a whatever, and am a TOTAL American. Why > copy only the rotten stuff of the west, why not the > good stuff ???? Any comments ??

Johar ranchi bhai log johar.......Why you people are fighting on a complicated issue like democile. Its waste of time and energy.I think at this stage focus should be on state development not on these steet issues, because person like Laloo will have political benefit on this and so on.No body likes development of a nebouring state.

Hi Ranchiets The website is very usefull. It gives all the information about the Jharkhand State. i have very close link with Ranchi. Now i am in Bangalore for last 5 years. But what happened to Jharkhand for last one week, it is very very bad. Let us forget the past and start working for development of the Jharkhand.

Looks like the domicile laws of the Jharkhand regime would make me an "outsider" although I was born and brought up at Ranchi, and did all my schooling there. Kudos to the Jharkhand regime for their thoughtfulness and their great work. They are more than all fullfiling all my expectations from them. Carry on dudes. Good luck.

I am one of the descendants of early settlers in Ranchi. I grew up there, was educated there and taught there at Ranchi University. One of my students, Ramdayal Munda, may be still teaching there and is active in politics. If so, please ask him to contact me through e-mail You have been doing something unbelievable. Not only the news but also the graphics. Frankly, I coiuld not believe it. I feel proud. Hearty congratulation. Please be in touch, if you can.

This wonderful site brings back many fond memories of the 31 years I spent in Hamare Pyare Bharat, many of those years being in Daltonganj, Bhandaria and Garhwa where I was mainly engaged in Leprosy Control, Rural Education and Community Development. Now I am "retired" but my heart remains in Jharkhand. What to do ? One of the dreams I cherish is to return to the Land of My Adoption. Thank you REO for putting this site together. If any of my friends read this and would like to contact me, please drop a line to - skillicorn@ozemail.com.au - Jay Hind

Hi Ranchiets, I love Ranchi, coz i was there for two years...and those were Gr8 days. But at present scenario...bad news are coming from there...Dailly "BANDH".How will be the life there.Bibhu has written really good message:" I couldn't help writing this message. Ranchi Express is doing a great job tying all Jharkhandies around the world through it's web site. Now don't make the process of posting messages so painful that one doesn't feel like doing so. I understand the concern that some people were misusing the forum in some indecent means as long as it was not moderated. But having to go back to your mailbox to confirm your posting is a little too much. The fellow Ranchietes who have tried posting a message would appreciate my pain. Nevertheless it's been a great experience on the site. Congrats "

I find it surprising that festivals as important as Holi, Deepawali and so on do not find a place in your list of festivals. I would deeply appreciate if you could add these which would be helpful for planning trips to India for expat folks. Thanks very much

Inviting all Ranchites in and around Arizona. Let's have a get together and dance to tune of "Ka le gori mor sange nain ladale..." For the benefit of those who didn't get the context or meaning - A few years back there was this famous album in Nagpuri (could have claimed a Grammy) called 'Milan'. So what say people? Even the Bay area can join in. Do write to me if it sounds interesting.

Quite a comprehensive site. I was searching the web for information about a village named Singni in the district called Dumka, and I ended up in this site. Since this place is in Jharkhand, many people from Dumka would be visiting this site. I would like to talk to anyone from this area. If anyone is interested, my email is dalip_ram@hotmail.com. I live in Australia and have never been to India.
