The state has extensive and well-developed railway system providing
vital links to mining industry and tourism with important cities and
ports of the country. The State has extensive goods handling facilities
available at Ranchi, Bokaro, Dhanbad and Jamshedpur (Tata Nagar). In
addition, ore loading facilities are available at Kiriburu , Lohardaga
and all the coal mines of Central Coalfields Ltd.

Railway Projects in the offing
8.3
An Inland Container Depot (ICD) is coming up at Tatanagar to facilitate
export efforts. The depot is expected to be commissioned by end
December, 2001.
