Kerala Samajam Model School (KSMS), Jamshedpur, successfully organised its First Sports Carnival on 31 October 2026. The inter-house sporting event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students representing the four Houses of the school – Charity, Hope, Joy and Peace. The participants displayed remarkable enthusiasm, sportsmanship and team spirit throughout the event.

The Carnival featured competitions in Badminton, Volleyball, Basketball and Handball, with separate categories for boys and girls. The event provided an excellent platform for students to showcase their sporting talents, discipline, leadership skills, teamwork and competitive spirit.

Inaugural and Closing Ceremonies

The inaugural ceremony was graced by the Principal of the school, Mrs. Rina Banerjee, who was also the Chief Guest. Mrs. Nandini Shukla, Director Academics, KSMS, was present as the Guest of Honour.

In her inaugural address, Mrs. Banerjee congratulated the Sports Department for conceptualising and bringing to life this wonderful initiative, which marked the school's first-ever Sports Carnival. She appreciated the effort behind creating an engaging sporting platform that celebrated participation and the joy of sports. Encouraging the young participants, she emphasised the importance of self-belief, perseverance and confidence, urging them to trust their abilities, give their best and enjoy the spirit of healthy competition.

The closing ceremony was graced by Mr. T. K. Sukumaran.In his gracious presence, the winning and runner-up teams, along with players who delivered outstanding performances, were felicitated and encouraged.

A Celebration of Sportsmanship and Unity

The First Sports Carnival 2026 concluded on a high note, with tremendous enthusiasm and a spirit of celebration. The event beautifully highlighted the values of healthy competition, teamwork, discipline, perseverance and sportsmanship.

Beyond the sporting achievements, the Carnival strengthened the bonds of camaraderie, unity and cooperation among the four Houses. It was a significant initiative towards nurturing a culture of sports and encouraging students to embrace physical fitness, confidence and the joy of participation.

The successful maiden edition of the Sports Carnival has set the stage for many more such sporting celebrations at KSMS in the years to come
