Tata Steel Zoological Park Celebrates 80th Independence Day with Patriotic Fervour


Jamshedpur, August 15, 2026: Tata Steel Zoological Park (TSZP), Jamshedpur, celebrated the 80th Independence Day of India with great enthusiasm, patriotic spirit, and a renewed commitment towards nation-building, wildlife conservation, and environmental stewardship.

The celebrations commenced with the hoisting of the National Flag by Dr. Naim Akhtar, Director, Tata Steel Zoological Park, in the presence of zoo employees, officers, and staff members. The gathering proudly sang the National Anthem and paid homage to the countless freedom fighters whose sacrifices secured India's independence.

Addressing the gathering, Dr. Naim Akhtar extended his heartfelt greetings to all employees and their families on the occasion of the nation's 80th Independence Day. He emphasized that while Independence Day is a celebration of freedom, unity, and progress, it is also an occasion to reflect upon our responsibilities towards nation-building.

In his address, Dr. Akhtar highlighted the significant role played by every employee of the zoo. He stated that whether engaged in animal care, veterinary services, education, maintenance, security, administration, or visitor management, each individual contributes to the larger mission of wildlife conservation and environmental protection. He appreciated the dedication, hard work, and commitment of the staff in ensuring the welfare of the zoo's animals and in inspiring visitors to respect and conserve nature.

Recalling the sacrifices of India's freedom fighters, Dr. Akhtar urged all employees to reaffirm their commitment to excellence, discipline, compassion, and service to society. He called upon the TSZP team to continue working collectively towards making the zoo a model institution in the fields of conservation, education, and animal welfare, thereby contributing to a greener, stronger, and more sustainable India.

The Director also thanked all employees for their valuable contributions towards the growth and success of the zoo and encouraged them to continue serving the institution and the nation with dedication and pride.

The Independence Day celebrations concluded with a collective pledge to uphold the values of the Constitution, protect the country's rich biodiversity, and work tirelessly for the welfare of wildlife and society.
