Centre for Guidance and Councelling Department at Karim City College organized a programme to commemorate "World Suicide Prevention Day."

A programme was organized on Suicide Prevention Day under the aegis of the Department of Center for Guidance and Counseling at Karim City College, Sakchi, Jamshedpur, in which students from PGPGC, psychology, and other disciplines participated.
The keynote speaker was Dr. Zaki Akhtar, Head of the Department. Dr. Mohammad Reyaz (principal) welcomed the spreakers and students and expressed concern over the increasing number of suicides in today's world, emphasizing the need to raise awareness about this issue.
In his keynote address, Dr. Zaki Akhtar elaborated on the causes, effects, and prevention measures of suicide. He explained that suicide can be prevented through awareness, as it manifests as a mental illness and its symptoms begin to appear before the event. He then discussed psychotherapeutic techniques related to this condition and also explained curative techniques for its prevention. Major (Dr.) Fakhruddin Ahmed, NCC Officer and professor in the department, Dr. Udham Singh, also spoke on the subject. At the end of the program, Dr. Satyavrata Panda proposed a vote of thanks.
