Jamshedpur, September 29, 2026:*

NIT Jamshedpur organised an Outreach Programme on GATE 2027 and JAM 2027 in collaboration with the GATE and JAM Office, IIT Kharagpur, under its Zonal Outreach Initiative at DJLHC 212.

The programme was graced by *Prof. Tarun Kumar Kundu,* Vice-Chairperson, GATE-JAM 2027, IIT Kharagpur; *Prof. Prabha Chand,* Professor-in-Charge, Outreach Activities, NIT Jamshedpur; and *Prof. M.K. Sinha,* Dean (Academics), NIT Jamshedpur.

The programme began with ceremonial lamp lighting, followed by the felicitation of Prof. Tarun kumar Kundu by Prof. Prabha Chand. Prof. He was presented with a bouquet, shawl and memento, and Prof. M.K. Sinha, Dean (Academics), NIT Jamshedpur, was also honoured during the ceremony.

Prof. Tarun Kumar Kundu conducted the session and provided students with valuable insights into the structure, relevance and benefits of the GATE examination. He also highlighted opportunities for higher education in reputed national and international institutions and relevance of GATE for PSU recruitment.

The event witnessed enthusiastic participation, particularly from third- and fourth-year students, with active participation from first- and second-year students as well. The session was followed by an interactive Q&A session, where students clarified their queries regarding GATE.

A Vote of Thanks was delivered by Pushkar Barnwal, Vice President, Students’ Council, NIT Jamshedpur, who expressed gratitude to the guest speaker, faculty members, organisers and students for their valuable contribution and participation.

The programme concluded with refreshments for the guest, faculty members and students.
