A Day of Music, Sports, Friendship and Jesuit Fellowship Wednesday, 30th September 2026, saw Loyola School, Bistupur, welcome the students and staff of St. Xavier’s High School, Lupungutu, for a memorable day of music, sports, friendship and fellowship. The visiting delegation was warmly received by Fr. Michael T. Raj, Rector, Loyola School, Bistupur, and Fr. Vinod Fernandes, Principal, Loyola School, Bistupur, who welcomed Fr. Kishore Lugun, Headmaster, St. Xavier’s High School, Lupungutu, and Fr. Sanjay. The other dignitaries who graced the occasion were Fr. Oscar Horo, Superior, Loyola School, Telco, Fr. Gerald Ravi D’Souza, Treasurer, Loyola School, Mr. Rajiv Talwar, Senior Vice President, LAA  and other distinguished members of the LAA. The day began on a melodious note with a spectacular performance by the St. Xavier’s High School, Lupungutu. Their precision, harmony, discipline and exceptional musicality captivated the audience and set an energetic and uplifting tone for the day. The Loyola community extended its heartfelt appreciation to the talented band members and their instructors for their magnificent performance. The proceedings then moved to the field and court, where students from both schools came together in the spirit of sportsmanship and friendly competition. The exhibition basketball matches for both boys and girls witnessed fast-paced action, spirited play and exciting moments on the court. St. Xavier’s High School, Lupungutu took the honours in both categories, while Loyola School, Bistupur, put up a spirited performance.Pooja Bodra and Monty Barik were declared the best Basketball players . The exhibition football match, too, was marked by enthusiastic participation, teamwork and skill. St. Xavier’s High School, Lupungutu, took the top honours, with Loyola School, Bistupur, giving them a tough fight. Diamond Kunkal was adjudged the Best Footballer. More than the scores and trophies, the day celebrated Jesuit brotherhood, unity, mutual respect and camaraderie. Every goal, every basket and every musical note reflected the joy of coming together as one shared community. The friendly contests provided an opportunity for the students of both schools to interact, compete in a healthy spirit and strengthen the bonds of fellowship. The day concluded with  thoughtful words of Fr. Rector, Fr. Principal and Fr. Kishore Lugun , Headmaster St Xavier’s High School Lupungutu who encouraged the students and inspired them to strive for excellence, carry forward the values of discipline and teamwork, and make the most of every opportunity.
