From Blood Donation to Spiritual Empowerment: A Unique Opportunity to Serve Humanity

Jamshedpur: Blood donation is not merely the act of donating blood; it is a noble humanitarian service that can save the life of an unknown person. With the aim of spreading this spirit among the masses and inspiring society towards selfless service, a special blood donation program is being organized on 25 August at Universal Peace Palace, Marine Drive, Sonari, Jamshedpur. The event is dedicated to the sacred memory of Rajyogini Dadi Prakashmani Ji, former Administrative Head of the Brahma Kumaris. The Brahma Kumaris family observes this day as World Brotherhood Day.
Last year, blood donation campaigns organized across India and Nepal in memory of Dadi Prakashmani Ji collected approximately 88,378 units of blood, an achievement that was recorded in the OMG Book of Records. This year, there is widespread enthusiasm across the country to expand this service further and achieve a new milestone.
The Jamshedpur program this year will not be limited to blood donation alone. It is being organized under the inspiring theme “Spiritual Empowerment through Blood Donation.” The objective is that every donor not only participates in a physical act of service but also experiences inner peace, positivity, and spiritual strength.
A special feature of this year’s program is its unique sequence: participants will first receive spiritual knowledge, then experience a guided meditation session, and finally participate in the noble act of blood donation. Attractive gifts and Brahma Bhojan (pure sattvic meal) will also be arranged to encourage and honor the donors.
The event has generated special enthusiasm in Jamshedpur because the ongoing Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan (Drug-Free India Campaign) bus journey has created a strong wave of public awareness across the city. Following the inauguration of the campaign by the Hon’ble Governor of Jharkhand on 7 August, the campaign bus has been reaching various localities including Baridih, Adityapur, Birsanagar, Telco, Mango, and many other parts of the city since 8 August, spreading the message of de-addiction and healthy living.
So far, more than 200 schools and colleges, over 50 parks, around 35 temples, more than 50 coaching centres, hundreds of apartment complexes, and numerous railway stations, bus stands, major intersections, and police stations have joined this mass awareness movement. According to the latest count, 51,175 people in the Jamshedpur region have already registered their pledge and commitment to this mega campaign.
Campaign activities will continue tomorrow in Bamangora, covering various schools, colleges, and parks. Repeated requests are being received from different localities to bring the awareness bus to their areas. The campaign bus arrived in Jamshedpur from Mount Abu, Rajasthan, and its eye-catching display featuring the symbolic message of Kumbhakarna has attracted significant public attention.
The bus will continue its public awareness and service activities in Jamshedpur until 27 August. Thereafter, the journey will proceed through Chandil, Baharagora, and Chakulia, followed by Tatisilwai, Patratu, Hazaribagh, and Gaya. In the third phase, selected areas of Bihar and West Bengal are also planned to be included in the campaign.
The organizers have appealed to all sections of society—including youth, students, social organizations, business communities, government and non-government institutions, and the general public—to participate in this noble service initiative. On 25 August, the event at Universal Peace Palace will be much more than an opportunity to donate a unit of blood; it will be a meaningful occasion to connect with humanity, world brotherhood, and spiritual empowerment.
