Jamshedpur, September 21, 2026: The National Institute of Technology (NIT) Jamshedpur, in collaboration with the Pandit Sunderlal Sharma Central Institute of Vocational Education (PSSCIVE), Bhopal, commenced a one-week Capacity Building Programme for Master Trainers in Artificial Intelligence and Digital Technology on September 21, 2026.

The five-day programme, scheduled from September 21 to 25, 2026, is aimed at strengthening the knowledge, skills and professional competencies of master trainers in the rapidly evolving areas of Artificial Intelligence and digital technology. The programme is being organized at NIT Jamshedpur. The inaugural ceremony was held at LHC 212, Diamond Jubilee Lecture Hall Complex, NIT Jamshedpur, from 10:30 AM to 11:15 AM.

Prof. Goutam Sutradhar, Director, NIT Jamshedpur, is the Chief Patron of the programme. Dr. Parmanand Kumar, Head, Department of Mechanical Engineering, NIT Jamshedpur, and Dr. Dilip Kumar Shaw, Head, Department of Computer Science and Engineering, NIT Jamshedpur, are the Patrons.

The programme is being guided by Prof. Saroj Kumar Sarangi, Registrar (I/C), NIT Jamshedpur, and Dr. Deepak Paliwal, Joint Director, PSSCIVE, Bhopal, as Programme Directors. Dr. R. Ravichandran, Professor of Chemistry, PSSCIVE, Bhopal, Dr. Abhishek Sharma, Assistant Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering, NIT Jamshedpur, and Dr. Jitesh Pradhan, Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Science and Engineering, NIT Jamshedpur, are associated with the programme as Coordinators.

The inaugural ceremony included the welcome of dignitaries and participants, ceremonial lighting of the lamp, Saraswati Vandana, welcome address, felicitation of dignitaries, an overview of the programme and its objectives, and addresses by the Heads of the Departments of Mechanical Engineering and Computer Science and Engineering, the Registrar, and the Director, NIT Jamshedpur. The ceremony concluded with the vote of thanks, National Anthem, Vande Mataram and a group photograph.

Addressing the gathering, Prof. Goutam Sutradhar, Director, NIT Jamshedpur, highlighted the importance of continuous learning, skill development and capacity building in the present technology-driven environment. He emphasized that capacity building is essential not only for individual professional growth but also for strengthening institutions and developing an ecosystem that encourages innovation, collaboration and knowledge sharing.

Prof. Sutradhar stressed the importance of upgrading skills and developing new competencies in emerging areas such as Artificial Intelligence and digital technologies. He noted that educational institutions have an important role in creating opportunities for faculty members, researchers, staff and students to learn, innovate and contribute meaningfully to society.

He also emphasized the need for collaboration, interdisciplinary engagement, professional development and industry-academia linkages. He encouraged the participants to actively engage in the programme, exchange experiences and make effective use of the learning opportunities provided during the week-long programme.

In his address, Dr. R. Ravichandran, External Programme Coordinator, PSSCIVE, Bhopal, highlighted the significance of capacity building in preparing professionals to respond effectively to emerging technological challenges. He emphasized that programmes of this nature provide opportunities for knowledge sharing, interaction, training and professional development.

He further encouraged the participants to actively participate in the sessions, share their experiences and translate the knowledge and skills gained through the programme into meaningful contributions to their respective institutions and society.

The programme provides a platform for interaction among experts, trainers and academic professionals and facilitates the exchange of ideas and experiences in Artificial Intelligence and Digital Technology.

The organizers expressed their hope that the programme would contribute to strengthening professional capabilities and fostering a culture of continuous learning, innovation and collaboration among the participating master trainers.

The programme will continue from September 21 to 25, 2026, with academic and training activities focused on Artificial Intelligence and Digital Technology.
