Jamshedpur, August 14: Tata Main Hospital (TMH) celebrated World Vascular Day 2026 with an enthusiastic gathering of over 150 healthcare professionals, consultants, nursing staff, and dignitaries at the TMH Auditorium.

The event commemorated significant milestones achieved by the Department of Vascular Surgery, including the successful completion of 1,020 open vascular surgical procedures and 145 endovascular interventions, reflecting the continued growth of vascular services at the institution.

A highlight of the programme was the multidisciplinary symposium titled “Not All Roads Lead to Varicose Veins: A Practical Approach to Lower Limb Oedema,” which brought together experts from Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, Orthopaedics, Neurosurgery, and Vascular Surgery. The highly interactive session generated lively discussions on the varied causes of leg swelling, practical diagnostic approaches, referral pathways, and collaborative patient management. Delegates praised the symposium for its clinical relevance, engaging format, and immediate applicability to day-to-day practice.

The programme was led by Dr Prashant Raman, Vascular and Endovascular Surgeon, who has been spearheading the development of vascular services at TMH. Present on the occasion were Dr Ashok Sunder, Chief Medical Indoor Services (CMIS); Dr Mamta Rath Datta, Chief Medical Support Services (CMSS); Heads of Departments from various specialties; and senior hospital leaders.

In her concluding remarks, Chief Guest- Dr Vinita Singh, the GM - Medical Services lauded the remarkable progress achieved by the Department of Vascular Surgery and commended the team's commitment to advancing specialized vascular care through clinical excellence, innovation, education, and multidisciplinary collaboration.

The event concluded with a celebratory cake-cutting ceremony and a renewed commitment to strengthening vascular care services across the region.
