14th IIM Jamshedpur Annual Metallurgy & Materials Quiz (IIMJsr AM2Q-2026) Held at CSIR-NML, Jamshedpur
The Indian Institute of Metals (IIM), Jamshedpur Chapter in association with CSIR-NML, organized the 14th IIM Jamshedpur Annual Metallurgy & Materials Quiz (IIMJsr AM2Q-2026) on 25 August 2026 at CSIR–National Metallurgical Laboratory Jamshedpur. The quiz witnessed enthusiastic participation from 36 schools, with approximately 180 students taking part in the competition. The programme provided students an opportunity to demonstrate their knowledge, scientific aptitude, quick thinking and interest in metallurgy and materials science.
The programme was graced by the chief Guest, Dr. Goutam Sutradhar, Director, NIT Jamshedpur; Dr. Sandip Ghosh Chowdhury, Director, CSIR-NML, Dr. Atanu Ranjan Pal, Chairman, IIM Jamshedpur Chapter.
Dr. Sandip Ghosh Chowdhury delivered the welcome address, followed by remarks on the activities of the IIM Jamshedpur Chapter by Dr. Atanu Ranjan Pal. The Chief Guest, Dr. Goutam Sutradhar, addressed the participants and encouraged students to develop scientific curiosity and pursue excellence in science and technology.
As a significant outcome of the event, the top three teams from IIMJsr AM2Q-2026 will represent the Jamshedpur Chapter at the Prof. Brahm Prakash Memorial Materials Quiz, scheduled to be held at Kalpakkam on 18–19 September 2026. The event was coordinated by Dr. M. Dhanunjaya Rao, scientist-D and Lalit Kumar Meena scientist-E, with the support of the IIM Jamshedpur Chapter and CSIR-NML.
Five teams qualified in the screening round out of 36 teams, representing from five schools, namely – Little Flower School, DAV Public School, Bistupur, Baldwain Farms Area High School, Hill Top School, Jamshedpur Public School.
After series of interesting rounds, Mr Divyansh Manomay and Mr. Sayanavo Chanda from Little Flower School, Jamshedpur was declared champions.
Ms. Ayushi Anshu and Aarna Chatterjee from DAV Public School, Jamshedpur got Second prize.
Mr. Souryash Pramanik and Ayushman Ghosh from Baldwin Farms Area School stood third.
The IIM Jamshedpur Chapter expressed its sincere appreciation to all participating students, teachers, schools, dignitaries, volunteers and members whose enthusiastic support contributed to the successful conduct of IIMJsr AM2Q-2026.
