NIT Jamshedpur Organises Exposure Visit for DAV Public School Students


Jamshedpur, August 20, 2026: The National Institute of Technology (NIT) Jamshedpur organised an exposure visit for students of Classes X, XI and XII of DAV Public School, NIT Campus, Adityapur, as part of its outreach activities. Around 30 students participated in the programme, aimed at providing academic and career exposure, developing scientific temperament, and familiarising students with higher education, emerging technologies and future career opportunities.

The programme began with an interaction session with Heads and faculty members of various academic departments and units. Dr. Raj Nandkeolyar, Head, Department of Mathematics; Dr. Anant Kumar Atta, Head, Department of Chemistry; Prof. Hira Lal Yadav, Head, Department of Physics; and Dr. Subratta Dutta, Faculty In-Charge, Computer Centre, interacted with the students and shared valuable insights about their respective areas, academic opportunities and career prospects.

The students subsequently visited the Mathematics Lab, AI Lab, Physics Lab and Chemistry Lab, where they received firsthand exposure to the academic and laboratory facilities of the institute. The visits were designed to enhance their understanding of science and engineering disciplines and encourage scientific thinking, innovation and curiosity.

On the occasion, Prof. Goutam Sutradhar, Director, NIT Jamshedpur, conveyed his message to the visiting students and encouraged them to develop a strong foundation in science and mathematics, remain curious, and actively explore opportunities in science, engineering and emerging technologies. He emphasised that early exposure to premier institutions can help students understand higher education opportunities and inspire them to pursue their academic and professional aspirations.

The exposure visit provided the students an opportunity to interact with faculty members and observe laboratories and academic facilities, helping them gain a better understanding of higher education and potential career pathways.

The programme was organised under the outreach activities of NIT Jamshedpur under the coordination of Prof. Prabha Chand, P/I Outreach Activities.
