Tata Steel Triumphs in Chess and Table Tennis at Tata Group Inter-Company Championship in Mumbai  

Mumbai/Jamshedpur, August 3, 2026: Tata Steel delivered a strong performance at the Tata Group Inter-Company Championship, held from July 31 to August 2 in Mumbai, emerging victorious in both the Chess and Table Tennis events.

The championship witnessed participation from eight Tata Group companies, with teams competing in a spirit of sportsmanship, camaraderie and healthy competition.

Tata Steel demonstrated its sporting excellence by securing the top position in both Chess and Table Tennis, adding another notable achievement to its sporting legacy.

The Tata Steel contingent comprised Dinesh Rakshit, Manjunath, Ajit Kumar, Rajeev Dutta, Abhishek Jha, Ranjeet Singh, Sanjay Swain and Natbar Sahoo. The Chess and Table Tennis teams were managed by Baiju Pandit, whose guidance and coordination contributed to the team's successful campaign.

The achievement reflects Tata Steel’s continued commitment towards promoting sports and nurturing sporting talent among its employees.
